Vlad Levitsky, the artist.

Born and educated in Russia, Vlad Levitsky from younger yeas was influenced by reach history of Russian literature and art often visiting world famous museums and art exhibits. The works of world famous Russian abstraction artists, such as Wassily Kandisky and Kasimir Malevich, have had most influence on his choice of painting style.

He moved to United States in late 80s. Vlad has a degree in computer science and has a successful career in high-tech industry. He took painting as a hobby a few years ago pursuing mixed media technique and attending galleries shows, engaging with other artists and attending workshops and classes of notable artists. Vlad is a member of Fine Arts League of Cupertino.

“I like to use mixed media technique with bold colors in my pictures. I engage colors to create a palette of incredible contrasts and lighting. The abstraction allows unlimited freedom of expression. I don’t have to conform to realistic forms and yet convey emotions and feelings. The mixed media technique broadens the use of paint application. I use pallet knife to splash, put streaks and blobs of paste and colors to bring more drama and achieve 3D effect. I believe my pictures have a force that draws dramatic response from a spectator “
